Asking for testimonials can help you to build your business more quickly. This may feel awkward at first, but you will get used to it as soon as you get used to the process. Testimonials can come from a variety of sources, including those people give you when you are speaking with them in person or on the phone, ones that are included in an email to you, and those you ask for directly. This is an opportunity for you to build your business by allowing others to brag about you.
The first few times anyone said something to be about how I had helped them, or one of my courses had taught them something that had made a difference in their business, I never even thought of asking them if I could use that as a testimonial in the future. Instead, I thanked them and that was the end of that.
Finally, a year or so later, I received an email from someone who was extremely complimentary. She said that I was welcome to use what she had written as a testimonial, and that she would be happy to send me a picture of herself to include along with it. One of my students taught me the value of this, and I will always be grateful.
Start a folder on your computer where you can save these. I like to include the photo of the person here, along with the website they would like to use to show the world who they are and what they do.
Now I ask people directly if they will say something about the experience they have had in my mentor program or one of my classes. Because I am teaching the concept of using a testimonial to build your business, they are more likely to give me one. They know it should be based on results, instead of just saying how much fun they had or that they liked it very much.
This is an excellent marketing strategy that should not be overlooked.

The power of testimonials is unreal once you get comfortable in asking for them! Some of our largest clients came from word of mouth. Can’t wait to hear more from you during the 30 day blog challenge.

Great ideas Connie. I’ve received testimonials from my master mind group as well as folks on Milagroworld forum. I’ve sent them the material to review and they’ve always been so responsive. I’ve found folks really want to be supportive and helpful.
