List building is crucial to your success on the Internet. Even though I have been extremely successful with a list of less than five thousand names, increasing the size of that list is one of my top priorities. There are several ways to do this, and my favorite ones are through article marketing, blogging, and SEO (search engine optimization) of all of my sites.
Article marketing is the process of writing short articles, typically three hundred to about five hundred words in length, about the topic you are specializing in. I get the ideas for what to write about from questions I receive from my prospects, comments on my blog, things I may hear about or read about online or offline, and topics that I know will be of interest for the people who want to learn more from me. Get into the habit of writing an article every day, and your business will grow exponentially. You will grow your list from this strategy as people click on the link in your resource box to visit your blog or other site.
Your blog is your home on the Internet, so post to it several times each week. You can repurpose the articles you write into blog posts, or do it the other way around for best results with the search engines. I use my blog to share ideas and concepts that they will find helpful, and my readers leave comments to let me know what they think and what else they want to learn.
I continue to learn more about SEO, and find this to be a fascinating topic. Simply by using two or three keyword phrases on my sites, people from around the world are able to find me. I also use keywords in my article and blog posts, and in my comments on social media sites. Get to know your keywords and doing business online will be much, much easier.
All of these strategies will lead to you being able to build your list much faster. It will also bring you prospects that are highly qualified because they found you through the keyword phrases that describe exactly what you do online and what you have to offer. During my recent book launch, it was the size of my list that helped to determine the outcome. If it had not been for the people who helped me during the later part of the day, it would not have been nearly as successful. You can make huge profits with a tiny list, but a larger list will give you the opportunity to make a bigger impact.
