This week I am spending time with my family in Georgia. Even though we have been spending time online every day, it is a drastic change from what I have been doing for the past year. I feel refreshed and renewed, and more creative than ever.
If you are spending time every day on your business, make a promise to yourself to get away from it all for at least one day each week. Your business will still be there waiting for you when you get back. It will put things into perspective more, allowing you to be even more focused when you return to work.
Since I have been away I have written two articles and this one blog post, as well as spending time on Facebook and Twitter. The difference is that I am taking my time with this, and turning off the computer several times each day when we leave to do something together as a family.
Be prepared for new teleseminars and webinars when I return, in addition to a great new program I will be unweiling at the end of this month. I have great things to share with you and can’t wait to get started!

I agree getting away from your normal situation certainly helps. We have come off to Spain for four months so that I can finally write my next two books on goal setting and achievement. Although it is cold here half way up a mountain the log fire makes it romantic and the peace is wonderful. My juices are flowing again also sat down yesterday wrote a new article and like you had time to look at my facebook and twitter accounts, isn’t it strange we have the same 24hrs at home but we seem to get more done without the daily distraction of telephones plus we have no TV here.
Good article that everyone should heed.

Connie, you’re right on the mark with this. Sometimes we need to refresh. Other times, we need to assimilate and absorb new information. Last week, I was off work. My wife & I spent 5 evenings of it at Borders with tea & books. I was doing serious reading on Web 2.0 subjects from several sources, getting good sleep, really in a good space for learning. It opened up all kinds of ideas and possibilities, some in-progress already and some yet to come. I have new avenues of research to pursue as well. Sometimes, we get so good at and caught up in what we’re already doing, we forget to open up space for new and better things to come into our lives. Breaking the pattern several times a year is good if you can.

Thanks for the reminder, Connie. I need it as I find myself not taking time off and then getting extremely frustrated. Balance is definitely the key to creativity and enthusiasm! I look forward to your new classes.
Keep up the fun!

Thanks for the reminder Connie. It’s really easy to forget to take time off when you are following your passions. Time off IS part of living a passionate life. I look forward to your renewed energy and mine.
