How to Build Your Business with Joint Ventures
You may have heard that JVs (joint ventures) are excellent for increasing your income, but did you know that you can build your business with joint ventures? Even if you are brand new to online marketing and entrepreneurship, creating JV opportunities for yourself is a strategy that will enable you to quickly create products, build a list, and generate income on the internet.
I have been on both sides of this coin, and I will tell you that it was an education in itself when I first began. Having more experienced marketers take me under their wing was a way to “earn while I learned” and to be able to ask questions when there was some part of the process I did not understand.
People like Marlon Sanders and Dr. Jeanette Cates took me under their wing in those early days. It just made sense that I would do this with others once I was in a position to help someone else launch their business.
One person I did this with is Adrienne Dupree. When she had only been online for a short time she and I decided to work together. My idea was to share her knowledge and my experience with WordPress plugins in a product we called Top WP Plugins for Business. She did the majority of the work, I marketed the product to my list, and she grew her list with the people who purchased. This was a win-win and effective for each of us to further our goals as online entrepreneurs.
I later did something similar with a student named Noel Watts when we created JVs Made Simple as a joint venture project. This enabled him to add hundreds of names to his tiny list within just a few days. In turn, he did the majority of the work in creating the product. The combination of his diligence in creating a written guide to using Google Docs for joint ventures, paired with my knowledge and experience with setting up and launching JVs with a variety of entrepreneurs proved to be a very popular topic for an information product.
My recommendation to you is to reach out to people who are already working online and that you have built a relationship with to see if they would be interested in JVing with you. Be prepared to pitch them your idea within a short outline, and know that you will be the one creating the main part of the product. Once it is launched, take it upon yourself to get involved with the marketing. Most of us are reluctant to partner on a second project with someone who did not take the initiative in this way with the first product.
Once you have two or three products under your belt that were created and launched in this manner, you’ll have a list and the confidence to do more on your own. Keep up the momentum and you will be able to build your business with joint ventures that helps you to achieve all of your goals as an online entrepreneur.
