There are thousands of forums, both free and paid, where people in your niche are hanging out. The first forum I ever visited was the Warrior Forum, and I could not understand what they were talking about. In fact, this experience was so intimidating for me that it was a year before I joined another forum and learned more about how this all works. Now I cannot live without the benefits I receive from the forums I am a part of and the people I am connected with.
The easiest way to find a free forum for your niche is to search on Google. This is particularly good for areas that are extremely specific, technical, or those meant for people who all fall into a certain category. Other forums are more general, such as Boomer Women Speak or the Work at Home Mom’s forum.
I am a member of several paid forums because of the business connections that can be made there. My favorite one is Dennis Becker’s Earn 1K a Day forum and membership site. It is worth every penny to me to be connected with people I can joint venture with later on. It’s less than $50 a month, which is a small price to pay to be able to interact with the caliber of people who are there on at least a weekly basis.
My recommendation is to try this out for six months and see how it affects your online business. Belonging to the right forums is the closest you will get to being involved in a Mastermind, without having to invest that kind of money. If you are ready for a Mastermind, check out my Online Marketing Incubator and come aboard.
Being an online entrepreneur is rewarding in so many ways, and no one can do it alone. Whether you join a forum or choose to work with a mentor, make sure to take advantage of this opportunity to have a business of your own on the Internet.

Hi Connie,
I am listening to your audio course on the 7 steps to a 6 figure business and you’re talking about the importance of paid forums. I’m trying to figure out why this step is so important, how to use it concretely and why it affects so much our list building?
Thank you for your answer and for that interview, it is really interesting!

Thanks for your comment, Amelie. Paid forums are filled with people who have “skin in the game”, meaning that they value the group and the training far more than those in free groups and forums. My favorite paid forum is from Dennis Becker at http://connieloves.me/earn1kaday. This group continues to help me grow my business, and the relationships I have formed make a huge difference as well.
