I received an email early this morning from the editorial staff over at EzineArticles. They had found 11 of my articles that contained a broken link. I went over to check it out and found that all eleven of the articles gave a reference in the resource box to a domain name I no longer own. It took about ten minutes for me to edit each article and replace the broken link with a valid one.
This is a valuable service provided by EzineArticles, but what about the tens or hundreds of sites that do not have any way of notifying you when your link is broken? There really isn’t anything you can do about other people’s sites, but you can easily check your own with some free tools that are available for the asking.
Just Google ‘broken link repair’ or something similar and you will find out how to make sure that al of your links are working. This is definitely worth your time. I spend some time each month looking at the various optin pages and sales letters I have up online. I almost always find a small error that can easily be changed. This type of maintenance will put more dollars in your pocket.
