Anchor text refers to the text that is clickable on your site. For example, if I write the words ‘article marketing’ and then hyperlink them to a site on article marketing, I am using anchor text. The idea is to use relevant words that are your keywords so that you can improve your site’s search engine ranking. The idea is to avoid words such as ‘click here’, that have absolutely no relevance to what you are writing about.
You will want to train people who are writing about you and your sites to use the best keywords when linking to you. Explain it simply so that it is easy to understand. Tell others what keywords are best for you. Some of my keywords are ‘start an online business’, ‘make money from your computer’, and ‘build an online empire’. If you are one of my affiliates, these are the best keywords to use when you link to my products and courses.
When submitting articles, use both html and anchor text in your resource box. This ensures that your links will be clickable when someone uses your article on their blog or in their ezine.

Just wondering, Connie …
Is Anchor Text the same thing as creating a HyperLink?
Thanks for the reminder about using relevant keywords and for sharing the keyword phrases that most people use to find you. I listened to a presentation about a year ago that really stressed the practice and the benefits of using Latent Semantic Indexing for article writing and higher Google page ranking. It made a great deal of sense to me. Since you write a multitude of articles, do you focus on LSI at all?
Your blog is one of my favorites – always something fresh and interesting and EDUCATIONAL going on here. Thanks!
