I received an email this morning from EzineArticles regarding a link at the end of one of my articles from May of 2008. They were letting me know that the link was no longer valid and giving me an opportunity to make any changes that needed to be made. I went into my account and saw that the domain name was one that I had not renewed, so it would not properly direct someone to the page I had intended.
Be sure to check your links regularly to make sure they are all still active. If you do not renew a domain name, that link will not work. I love that EzineArticles notifies you about this type of thing, but no one else will do that. Make it simple for someone to contact you and let you know if one of your links is broken.
If you have written short reports or eBooks, look through them and make sure everything is in proper working order. It is easy to change digital documents to make sure that no one clicks to go somewhere that no longer exists.

This is GREAT advice Connie and actually just happened to me. I had a domain directing people to my articles on Ezine and didn’t realize I hadn’t renewed it! Yikes, I’ve got the domain on my blog! thanks for this great tip to be aware and up to date!

In addition, Connie, I have learned (the hard way) that you sometimes need to “ENABLE” automated payment renewals for your domains – depending what source you’re purchasing them from. I lost two really cool domain names because I did not read the policies and procedures carefully. My fault.
I cant’ begin to tell you the number of ebooks I’ve downloaded that contain links that are not active. It’s frustrating, too. It’s always those resources you’re anxious to take a look at – click the link – and you’re taken nowhere.
Par for the course, you have given marketers a vital, top notch tip!
