Article marketing will help you to build both your credibility and visibility on the Internet. Simply by writing short articles – anywhere from two hundred fifty to four hundred words – and submitting them to the top article directories, you will find that your search engine ranking will increase and people will begin to find you easily, based on the keywords you use.
Keywords are the words people use when they are searching for information on a specific topic at Google, Yahoo, MSN, or any of the search engines currently available. For example, if I am looking for a Yoga studio and I live in Dallas, Texas, I might type in ‘yoga studio in dallas’, or ‘yoga class for beginners in dallas’. You can see from this example that keywords typically consist of several words, instead of just one or two.
If you were the owner of a Yoga studio in Dallas, you would want to write articles with these keywords in the title, as well as throughout the body of your writing. This will come naturally simply by allowing the writing to flow.
I recommend writing articles that contain three key pieces of information on your topic. These pieces may be tips, mistakes, ways, reasons, problems, ideas, benefits, styles, facts, steps, strategies, universal laws, fundamentals, etc.
Articles can be written using a five paragraph model. The first paragraph begins with a statement of fact about your topic. It then tells the reader what three things you will be explaining throughout the article. The second, third, and fourth paragraphs go into more details about each of the three things you presented in the first paragraph. The fifth, and final, paragraph sums up what you have written about and recaps what you have explained in your article.
The resource box, also known as the author’s bio, tells the reader what they will receive when they visit your site. You will achieve the best results when your free offer is directly and specifically related to the topic of your article. In the example I have used here, you would want to offer something on Yoga, such as a short video on how to stretch before a Yoga class, or a checklist of what items you need to begin your Yoga practice. Think about the next logical step in the process for the person who is reading about your topic, and then provide it for them so they will click on your link and sign up at the site where you direct them.
