Blogging is the single most important activity you can engage in when you are just starting out with an internet business. This is just an opinion, but it is shared by some of the most successful people online. I am so glad I followed this advice when I was starting in 2005, or I would not have the business I enjoy today.
Once you have chosen a niche, set up your blog and get to work. Post about everything you know on your topic. If you run out of ideas, read other blogs and resource materials to learn even more about what you want to be involved in online.
I teach that your blog is your home on the internet. Make your visitors feel welcome with frequent posts and resources you have provided for them. This is your opportunity to connect with people you may never meet in person, so put your best post forward!
You also want to give just enough information to have these new prospects sign up to find out more about you and what you do. Make sure what you post about is just slightly incomplete, giving them just a taste of what you do. The reason I do this is people will attend my free teleseminars and get to know me better.
Whether you are blogging for a new business, or for a small business that needs an internet presence, this is the fastest and easiest way to get started. Another benefit is that prospects will be able to find you through Google and the other search engines very quickly when you use your keywords correctly in your blog posts.
