Branding is the process of establishing yourself and your business as separate and recognizable from others in your niche. We all recognize the golden arches of McDonald’s, the red circles for Target stores, and numerous others. Some businesses have phrases or jingles that tell you who they are in a split second.

The Shwayder brothers, founders of Samsonite luggage, accomplished this very well back in the early 1900’s. I am just beginning to brand myself as the Wild West Marketer. I live in an area known for finding gold in the 1800’s and filming many westerns throughout the last century, so it made sense for me and can be fun and easy to remember.
How will people remember you and your business, especially if you are working exclusively on the internet? By the way, my Small Business UnMarketing name is a play on the 7-Up branding as the ‘uncola’.
