Commenting On Other People's Blogs

First of all, I want to thank all of you who have commented on this blog over the past two years. Yes, this blog is almost two years old now, and I have now received more than a thousand comments. I am not able to respond to each of your comments individually, but please know that I appreciate you.

When you comment on someone else’s blog you show that you are reading other blogs. This has been so important in my own learning experience, I cannot even begin to describe it. By reading what others have to say you give yourself the benefit of what the other blogger knows about and has experienced in their own online business. I subscribe to and read about 50 blogs, so I have a good feel for what is happening in the blogosphere.

When you leave a comment on a blog, there is a good chance that others will click on your name to take a look at your site. Over time you will increase your own blog’s readership because more people will find you and read what you have to say. Someone who is interested in what I am posting about may also be interested in your opinion. That’s just how it works.

I am not able to publish every comment, because some people still do not get it. They want to promote products and use my blog as a forum to rant about things that have no bearing on the topic at hand. While these people are not spammers, they are not adding to the conversation either.
