Copywriting – Headlines Are Important In Your Web Sales Copy

Writing your own web sales copy can be the most daunting task, but it doesn’t have to be that way. You may be surprised to learn that copywriting is a part of the Internet marketing process that can be achieved quite easily. The important parts of this process are the headline, the story, and the bullet points. I will go into more detail on each of these sales letter elements. Let’s start out by talking about the importance of the headline.

I have heard that the headline you choose to use on your sales letter may account for about eighty percent of the success you achieve. If you think about this you can see how it may be accurate. When you arrive at a sales letter for a product you have some interest in, the headline jumps right out at you. If it does not grab your attention and make you want to read more, it does not matter how well written the rest of the sales copy is. On the other hand, if that headline speaks directly to what you need at the time, you will continue to read further down the page.

The story is where the copywriter tells a little about themselves to draw you in. They may share where they were before they created this product, and how it has helped them to achieve the results they were looking for. It may also tell you more about where they came from and why you should be interested in their product or service.

Bullet points serve to tell you the benefits you will receive from using their product or service. We do not buy the features of something, we buy its benefits. For example, the features of a product on golf may include the five videos, two checklists, and a membership site; the benefits may be that we will improve our golf swing within ten days. We all want the benefits.

As you can see, simply by adding these three crucial elements you will be able to write your own effective sales letter copy. This skill improves greatly over time, making it possible for you to sell your products, courses, and services online with much greater ease. Professional copywriters are very expensive to hire, so learning how to do it yourself is an excellent alternative. Practice as much as possible, and then track your results. This will enable you to become a successful Internet marketer.
