My friend and colleague Ben Settle has been telling people this for awhile now. Copywriting is persuading and – yes – selling! You don’t make any money on the internet unless something is sold. So instead of thinking of selling as such a horrible thing, embrace the idea of letting people know about something they want and need.
I first learned about copywriting from Joe Vitale. He wrote a book back in 2007 called Hypnotic Writing, and I purchased it before it hit the bookstores. I was mesmerized by the ideas he shared in that book, and even now I reread parts of it from time to time. I love the chapter on creating hypnotic stories. In fact, when I tell my story at the beginning of a sales letter, many people tell me later on it was the story I told that made them want to purchase my program or product.
Storytelling allows your propsect to connect with you on a subconscious level. We are all human beings going through similar experiences, so conveying that through your story is very compelling. Do not be afraid to tell a story that is still very emotional for you. if you are still touched by it, your prospects will be as well.
My own story tells of my experiences dealing with cancer, almost losing my home, and being persistent when deciding to build a business on the internet. Always remember that selling is an obligation when it comes to sharing your information and knowledge with others who will benefit from it. If others had not been persuasive in their copywriting, I would not be enjoying the success I am living today.

Through years of studying the human mind both from the scientific and the spiritual aspect I have learned the importance of story-telling.
It is one of the most effective means we have when communicating to bypass the conscious mind & resistance to new information and reach directly into the sub-conscious mind.
On that spiritual side that may be stated as by passing the EGO and speaking directly to the heart & soul.
Good story telling is open ended and gives the listener the freedom to accept or decline that which is being presented.

Hi Connie,
This post is, as Sheila says a great supplement to the thread on Milagro.
And you are so right. If you want to make money on the internet… You must sell something!!!
That’s really quite simple!!
Have a great day! 😀
