An e-course is a series of short lessons that teach your prospect some basic information on your area of expertise. I love e-courses. They have proved to be extremely profitable for me and thousands of others who are working on the Internet. Here is an e-course I created in about two hours during the summer of 2009. When you are creating your own e-course, think about the topic, what else you will promote, and how you will follow up with the people who sign up to learn from you. I hope you are excited about doing this yourself.
On the Internet we answer questions and solve problems for others, so creating a course to teach our prospects more about what we know just seems to make sense. The difficulty can come from attempting to teach everything we know, or from teaching an overview of our entire topic. Instead, choose a small slice of your niche topic and share as much as possible in an e-course you will deliver over a short period of time. The idea is to go an inch deep and a mile wide with your knowledge.
Throughout your e-course, offer your readers an opportunity to learn more about each lesson you are teaching. You may want to tell them more about other courses, programs, and products you have to offer, or about that of an affiliate. Either way, this will bring you income for months or years to come. Craft your lessons carefully and you will be rewarded. This is a way to position yourself as an expert in your niche, so spend the time necessary to make the course something you will be proud of.
Following up with your prospects after they have completed your e-course will make the difference between a mediocre attempt and a marketing success. If someone is interested enough to go through your series of lessons, they more than likely are interested enough to want to go further with you. Before you even write your lessons decide where you will take people once they are done. It is said that the fortune is in the follow-up, so make sure this is part of your marketing plan before you begin.
As you can see, this is an excellent way to connect with your prospects, position yourself as an expert in your field, and to monetize your knowledge by providing good solid information and value. Choose a theme, outline your lessons, and see what happens when you offer this to your list. You may find that creating e-courses is the best thing you can do to build your online business.

Thanks, Connie. You inspired me to add some additional follow-up messages to my autoresponder today.
My e-course, Beat Information Overload the 5F Way, is at http://www.beatinformationoverload.com.

Connie,
I saw your email on Sunday, and I just happened to be creating a little 5-part e-course at the time, so here is a link to it.
Thanks for the boost of inspiration to get it finished up. All I need to do now is to create a .pdf for each lesson that can be downloaded.
