As I teach people how to get their eBooks written they often ask me why they need to have a blog if they are writing an eBook. They just don’t see the connection. The answer is that you want to create interest in what you are writing about, increase your credibility and visibility online, and build a list of prospects while you are writing your eBook. Blogging will help you to accomplish all of these goals.
You will want to create a blog on the exact topic you are writing on. In just a short time, 30-90 days, people will be able to find your blog based on the keywords you have used in your blog title, domain name, and post titles. You will have started a conversation in the blogosphere on your topic.
Each time you post, and that should be at least three time a week for the first couple of months, provide your readers with information that will be helpful and useful. Find out what problem they are trying to solve and give them suggestions for what will work in their situation.
You can even use excerpts from your eBook and repurpose them into blog posts. Blogging will also help you to build a list as more people want to find out what you know about your niche topic. Join me on my free weekly technology calls to learn more.
