Facebook has many great features, and the ability to creat your own group is one of my favorite ones. I like to create groups so that I can test out my ideas before I spend any time creating a product, connect with people from around the world who share common interests, and to find new prospects who are interested in my niche. Before you start your own group, spend some time searching for other groups that are already talking about your niche.
I like to set up my group at the very beginning. This means that I will upload a picture and start two or three discussion topics. Then I will invite some of my Facebook who may be interested in this group’s topic. This way my group already has some activity when new people find it by searching for their keywords within Facebook. The one time I did not set up my group, it started without me! I went back in a few days later, only to find that people had already joined and were discussing various things.
You are able to send a message to your group at any time. This gives you the ability to invite them to teleseminars and other events, notify them of a new blog post or article, and to share information with them about your niche topic. I encourage you to take advantage of Facebook groups to increase your visibility online.

Just curious, Connie …
Do Facebook members need to have a certain # of friends on their roster before they can start a group?
Also, do you feel that creating a “group” is a better idea than creating a “fan page”?
Thanks, Connie!
