How To Get The Most Out Of The 30 Day Blogging Challenge

April 10, 2010 By Connie Ragen Green 34 Comments

If you have committed to participating in my 30 day blogging challenge, then you might as well get the most out of it to benefit your online business. These are 5 important tips for how to do that successfully.

  • Choose 3 other blogs from other people involved in this challenge and make it a point to connect with them this week. Comment on their blogs, follow them on Twitter, and follow their blogs on Facebook at the Networked Blogs application.
  • Every day during these next 29 days, tweet me with a shortened link to your post for that day. I will then retweet it so that my 22,500 followers will see it. Take a look at what I am doing on Twitter so that you will see exactly how this works.
  • Come back to this blog regularly – two or three times each week for the next few weeks – and leave a comment on this post, the original post, or any other post that is relevant to what you are doing online. This will help me to get to know you better. This is how joint ventures are formed, and how I began to connect with Helen Raptoplous. She is the ‘Action Habits’ coach I am now coaching to 10K a month. I watched what she was doing online for a few months and then asked her if she would like to JV with me for this 10K project.
  • Use this 30 day challenge to ‘find your voice’ online. This is what I did in 2005-2006 to start building my online business quickly. By writing every single day I was able to determine exactly what I wanted to offer my prospects and how to serve them more effectively.
  • Choose one affiliate product to promote on your blog. This will help you to start making some money while you are creating a product of your own.

That’s all there is to it. These 5 tips will help you to leapfrog your way to success, and will put you way ahead of everyone else out there in cyberspace who is not willing to go the extra mile on the road to success.

You can do it. I have faith in your ability to succeed, no matter what your niche or how long you have been on the Internet.

So glad you mapped this out for all us participants in your 30-day blogging challenge.

I love the idea of finding three new people to connect with each week. At first, I was wondering, “How in the world am I going to have the time to read a BOAT LOAD of blogs, Re-tweet as a courtesy, and post a gazillion comments?!”

Thanks for lifting a huge weight off my shoulders, Connie. Now I know the goal is not to try and accomplish the impossible. 🙂

Talking about promoting, initially, just (1) affiliate product on our blogs …

If you could choose just ONE of your amazing products to promote, which one would you pick?

Melanie – the most important thing is to ONLY promote what you have
purchased and benefitted from – that’s the mistake I continue to see –
people promoting things they have not used themselves. If you have
not spent your money on something, why are you recommending that
someone else spend their money? It just doesn’t make sense to me,
and it’s probably why I do so well as an affiliate marketer while others
struggle to make a few dollars here and there.
Can you tell that I know what I’m talking about here and have a strong
      opinion?

Awesome advice that I will take to heart Connie. I’m looking forward to this challenge and have already started making some “new friends” by reading blogs etc. This is so exciting with endless possibilities. Thanks! Maggie <3

    Hi Connie,
Great job herding us all along the trail (more Texan talk) to make the most of this 30 days. I’m very grateful to the folks who have signed up to follow me on facebook’s networked blogs. I still need at least 8 folks but I am sure that will come during this period. I am glad you mentioned that we should pick a certain number of blogs to follow and comment on because otherwise the number of folks participating could get overwhelming. Yesterday I had trouble finding the old comments so I’ll go look again to get the URLs for people.

    Hi Connie,
You tweeted that I’m too anonymous. Oops! Is it my kww48 username? I went back and put my full name on my Knits Gone Bad blog About Me page: http://www.knitfitninja.com/blog/about
    What else is missing?

Thanks so much for this blog challenge. I’ve done 3 posts so far. I had no idea there were so many other things to do after writing and posting.

posted two articles for the challenge, so I’m on a roll!! 28 to go! 😉
I tweeted them to you, but I don’t get them retweeted… Maybe this is because we are in a diffrent timezone?

      Linda,
I have hundreds of people in the challenge, so I just can’t get
to them all each day. Instead, utilize the #blog30 hashtag in
your tweets and then connect with everyone at Tweetchat.com.

I know that you have strong opinions and strong convictions, not only about affiliate marketing, but about everything you do! That’s one reason why I believe people are attracted to you and respect you), Connie. You “ooze” confidence and clarity. And I totally agree with you on the selection of things to promote. No one should be promoting something they don’t have firsthand experience with. Makes no sense.

One more thing, if I may … I’m not getting any RT notifications re my 30-day blogging challenge posts. Is there something I’m not doing correctly when I Tweet you?

    Thank You.

    Connie,
I have to tell you that this is definitely the most fun and most productive thing I’ve done in months..maybe years…as you predicted I’ve met up with folks that are like-minded and that is even more fantastic than ever.

I would love to follow everyone AND comment on their posts but one thing that would help is if people put either their blog URL or their networked blogs URL in each of their posts (kind of like their signature). I can hopefully find them in #blog30 but if they were right here where they posted then all I have to do is click, hit follow or comment and bingo everyone wins!!!

Thanks to everyone for the terrific posts. Connie, you are a true winner! This is just what I needed at the end of a very hectic day of presentations to a bunch of lawyers – thank you everyone – you’ve given me strength and I just have one more “lawyer day” to go….LOL

    Thanks

I connected with Anna, Helen, and Heather this week. WOW – Three wonderful people I probably wouldn’t have met if I hadn’t decided to join the blogging challenge.

At the end of this challenge, I think participants will say that the new people they met along the journey was the BEST part of all !

    Hi Connie,

I think I missed something but maybe I’ll catch up. I don’t know how to do the Facebook networked blogs thing — maybe you talked about it on your call tonight and I can hear it on the recording. I have my blog posted to my Facebook page but that’s about it.

I’m learning! Thanks for doing this challenge. I’m one post behind but that’s good for me!!

We’re all still going strong thanks to you Connie. You are an inspiration and last night even during the Yankees game (which I have to watch or listen to on my computer since my TV broke) I wrote 4 more posts. By the end of this weekend I should be at 30 and be able to pre-publish them and go to work on the next 30. As Tara wrote in her blog, it’s all about making things a habit and you’ve certainly instilled that in us. I can’t wait for your next product or course.

Thanks for helping us out so much. I have learned from your guidance, your instruction, your students and just from watching how you operate and more importantly how wonderfully you treat people.
