How To Write A Press Release To Get Noticed Online

Press releases will get your name out on the Internet in a big way. Not so long ago, it was just not possible for entrepreneurs and small business owners to just send out a press release online. There were guidelines on how to let a publication know that you had something that might be of interest to them. Usually you had the name, phone number, and fax number of the person you wanted to reach, and it was entirely up to them to decide if what you had to say was newsworthy or not.

Those days are long gone. Now we can write our own press releases and submit them to a variety of sites online. Some of these are free and others charge you for the distribution, but either way you are able to get the word out in a big way so that people all over the world know who you are and what you have to offer them.

You will want to learn how to write your release so that others can interpret it easily. This means that you must be clear in your intentions for the information you are releasing. This style of writing is very different from anything else, and knowing exactly how to give your message the right twist will make all the difference in the world.

I like to think of this as the Kindergarten effect. If you’ve been around young children, you know that they will make a big deal out of the smallest things. They may see an insect and be talking about it for days. Or a new movie will come out and they will want to watch it over and over again. Think about what you are doing in your business. It may seem like you are not doing anything special, but the world will see it as something spectacular if you are willing to make a big deal of it.

Make a list of the activities you are involved with in your business. What is new and different? Perhaps you have started a new blog or will be speaking at a conference. Anything you are doing is worthy of sending a press release to announce it.

Once you have learned how to write in this style, make it a point to send a new press release every month. Some businesses are doing this every week, so it is not a stretch to do it monthly. Make sure to use your keywords in the title and throughout the body of the release, and then distribute it widely.
