How To Write Your First Article

Many of my students come to me with the desire to write an ebook. Soon I find out that they have not started because they have not been writing for years. My suggestion is that they write an article first and then move on to writing their ebook as they get into the habit of writing regularly.

When you are writing your first articles make some notes about your topic. What will the point of the article be? Then, write down some tips or solutions to the problem your reader may be experiencing. Now you are ready to write your article.

Write an opening paragraph that describes your topic and tells your reader what they will learn from your article. Then list your tips or solutions to their situation in a logical, orderly manner. Describe each tip in further detail. Write a concluding paragraph that leaves them wanting more. Do this so that they will have a reason to visit or blog or website after they read your article.
