I teach technology, so I wanted to share with you just how easy it is to set up a WordPress blog. You must first purchase a domain name. I recommend GoDaddy for this, unless you are already buying your domains elsewhere. You then need hosting, and I recommend Blue Host Solutions (my affiliate link) for this. It is under one hundred dollars a year for all of the domains you need hosted. The cutoff may be 99 domains, but you will not need more than that for quite awhile.
When you log in, scroll down to where it says ‘software/services’. Then click on Simple Scripts and you will be taken to a new page. Look for ‘WordPress’ and click there to install. Simply choose the domain you wish to add the blog to, and it will be installed in just a minute or two.
There are a few more things you will need to learn, like adding a new theme and installing a few plugins, but nothing is more difficult than installing the blog to begin with. Learn how to do things for yourself first, then decide if you want someone else to take that over from you in the future.

Yes that Simple Scripts really works, I was confused that I could no longer update my blog using Fantastico, then I noticed a little notice that Bluehost was not using them to upgrade, to use that Simple Scripts instead, boy it was simple but I had not upgraded for a while and I upgraded like 5 times to get to the current revision. Funny I did not know how to spell Fantastico, so I went to Blue host and logged in to my cpanel, which is real easy by the way, just got to http://bluehostsolutions.com and login to cpanel stuff. Anyway I login and get this notice in a popup: That I need to upgrade my blog click ok and it does the upgrade then says: Upgrading WordPress to 2.9.
