If you are not passionate about what you do, it is very difficult to do it well. This applies to just about anything you can think of in your life. I thought about this after having a conversation with an author I know. He is trying to make money with an Internet business, but his passion is in writing fiction. His comment to me was that he wished he could make enough money online to be able to just write for a month at a time without thinking about the work he does on the Internet.
That comment was very revealing, because what he was saying was that the Internet business was just a way to earn some money, and that his writing was the activity he truly loved. I do not believe he will ever achieve the level of success he wants in his online business if he continues to think in this way.
So what’s the solution? I think we have to do what we love and follow our passion. In my friend’s case, perhaps he could build his online business around his fiction writing. He could mentor other writers in how to write articles and use blogging as a way to get more exposure on the Internet. He has some good technical skills, so he could even set up blogs and websites for the authors. He would understand exactly what they need and where they are coming from. It is just a matter of changing the way you look at things.
Perhaps I am oversimplifying this concept, but I honestly believe we can live our passion and make money with it at the same time. What do you think?

Very good insight on why pursuing our passion, and finding creative ways to make money doing it. Thanks!

I couldn’t agree with you more Connie. I love internet marketing and what better way to run an online business than to focus on my other equal passions: baseball and health!

Very interesting, Connie. I am not sure I believe you have to be passionate about your online business to make money. I do believe it is important to enjoy your particular niche. Otherwise, what would be the point of creating a internet business. It would then become just another J-O-B that you would soon be looking to replace.
If you enjoy your niche, you can earn the money you need/want to do something your are passionate about.
Warmly,
Mary Ann
