Making Your First Income Online is Easier Than You Think
So, you want to be an online entrepreneur. Good for you! Making your first income online is easier than you might think. I invite you to follow along as I provide you with a simple blueprint to follow that could lead to some first sales for you. What if you…
The first part is all about your mindset. First, you must believe that people are buying products, courses, services, printables, books, programs, PLR, and more. Next, believe that you can be a trusted advisor to at least a small portion of these people because you will be looking out for their best interests and only recommending and promoting products (I’ll use this word to encompass the vast field of digital items available at any given moment) from the people and companies you use, have seen up close, or have vetted in some way.
If you’re willing to accept this precept and concept, you’re ready to move forward. The next part has to do with sales and selling. It is a good thing to get used to selling to others. We do it throughout each day, and it began when we were tiny tots and gently, or not so gently persuaded our parents and siblings to give us what we wanted.
By the time I was five years old I had mastered the art of getting a Hershey’s milk chocolate bar into my hands. I did this with negotiation (trading the act of eating a specific amount of veggies for the promise of candy) and persuasion (showing my mother that giving me the candy bar made me happy and more likely to mind her rules and requests in other areas each day) so she could feel successful as a parent. Making your first income online is very similar, in my experience.
In school, we sell ourselves in order to be chosen for the kickball team, or to be the hall and office monitor for the week, or to help another student with subject matter we’ve already learned well.
Your first job most likely was the result of you adequately selling your personality, skills, and interest to the person in charge of the hiring decision. I could go on and on, but I think you’re getting the idea.
Next comes the process of choosing the inventory to offer to others. This can be created, recommended, or offered. By this I mean that we can create a product or course, or recommend that of someone else through our affiliate link, or offer our time or services that will serve others. By the way, selling and making a living online (or offline) is all about serving others by offering something they will see as a good value for their needs. Making your first income online is simply about discovering, and then being willing to serve others in a way that will be beneficial to each of you.
My first year online, I had no products or courses of my own, so I began recommending what I was purchasing and benefiting from through my affiliate links. There is so much power and satisfaction in asking someone to spend money, based on your recommendation. For me, this included the obvious items, like the autoresponder service I used at that time, the hosting company where my early websites were being set up, and the training courses and products I was buying that helped me to become a marketer. You may be surprised to know that I was not born as the “Marketing Madwoman” and that I had to become a student of marketing like everyone else!
If this information has been helpful to you, take action and make something happen. Start small, like with recommending a book you read or are reading that is impacting your life in some small way to someone you know personally. Offer a product or course you love by writing or recording a short review and sharing it on your blog and on social media. This is a site where you can find many thousands of digital items to recommend – Clickbank Pro Search. Right now you can click at the top where it says “Signup for Pro” and get a Pro Lifetime Membership for $27. This is for every niche under the sun, the moon, and all of the planets (even Pluto, that has been demoted) and you will most likely recognize at least a few of the names of people who sell their products there.
You may also wish to give away products, courses, and trainings that are offered at zero cost through your affiliate link. I have one called the “Action Habits Challenge” that many affiliates share in order to get “cookied” in for future sales of my products, courses, and programs. Take a look, come aboard, and begin sharing with others you believe would benefit from this complimentary training.
I have a very popular, short training called “3 Day eBiz” that will help you move forward quickly. If you benefit from what I teach there, you could recommend it to others through your affiliate link (become my affiliate, if you aren’t already) and recoup your investment. Start small and THINK BIG and you’ll build an online business that’s fun, energizing, and lucrative in no time at all.
