You must be creative and think ahead if you want to successfully sell your ebook. It is best to start marketing your ebook before you have finished writing it. There are several ways you can easily do this.
- Start a blog on the topic of your ebook. Do this as soon as you have decided what your ebook will be about. This way you can repurpose your blog posts into parts of your ebook and you will also come up with more ideas and information for your ebook. The result will be an ebook that is more content rich than it would have been without the blog. Blogging also enables you to begin building an audience of potential buyers for your ebook as you are writing it.
- Write a short report, five to twenty pages, and offer it for sale on eBay. Even if you sell it for one dollar, the goal will be to generate leads for your completed ebook. eBay allows you to have links to your website and blog from your About Me page, a feature offered by eBay. Over a half million ebooks were sold on eBay last year, so my guess is that many people are using it for lead generation.
- Begin to hold teleseminars to discuss the topic of your ebook. Allow people to ask questions in advance so you will know what they are interested in knowing about your topic. Have people register for these teleseminars so that you can stay in touch with them.
