When the Superbowl starts tomorrow afternoon, where will you be? If you want to finish writing your ebook and get it ready to sell, watching the Superbowl may not be the best use of your time. Here are a few suggestions for getting some work done while still enjoying the big game. It’s all about focusing on your goals and time management.
If you are attending a Superbowl party, bring along your spiral notebook. You can watch the pre-game show and the singing of the national anthem and then excuse yourself until half-time. During this time you can write down your ideas and work on a few pages of your ebook. You may even have some new ideas or be inspired by the festivities surrounding the game. At half-time rejoin your party, watch the show, and see the commercials we will be talking about during the next year. Then retreat back to the privacy of a room away from the noise and write for another hour or so. Have someone come and get you when it is about five minutes into the 4th quarter. Then you can see the big finish and celebrate (or not) with your friends.
This is how you can enjoy the Superbowl and still write for a couple of hours during the game. Believe me, a year from now you will be glad you spent the time on your writing.
Connecting your topics to the Super Bowl is a great idea, as is connecting your topic to any holiday.
And yes, the Super Bowl is a holiday for some of us!

Great idea Connie. I will be attending a Superbowl party tomorrow and a lot of parents and kids will be there. I will be observing/talking to both groups to gather new ideas for articles and blog articles. Since the Indianapolis Colts are playing this year, I’ll sneak away and do some writing. Enjoy the game half-time show. I find your posting inspiring and certainly encourages me to grow and write. Thank you.
