Survey Your List To Find Out What They Think

You can create a survey to find out exactly what your target market wants. I believe this is crucial to business success, no matter if you are online or offline. There are so many times when I wish a company would just ask my opinion. Many times that would make the difference between me staying with them or switching to another place for the same service or products. You can use surveys to ask people’s opinions on your business, help you decide which product or service to create next, and to connect with your prospects more closely.

Make sure to keep your survey short. Asking about five to seven questions seems about right. Mix the questions up between multiple choice, yes or no, and fill in the blanks. It is best to create a flexible survey that allows responders to really tell you what they think about what you are asking. We all enjoy sharing our thoughts and opinions, so make some of the questions open ended.

I have found that this is an excellent way to decide which products to create next. I did this recently when I was trying to decide between creating a course on list building or traffic generation. I was sure that people wanted to know how to build their lists, but the survey said otherwise. I listened to what my prospects told me and my new product has been a tremendous success. In the past I would just make a product based on what I thought was best, and this was not a good choice.

You can use a free service like Survey Monkey to conduct your survey easily. Announce the results of your survey in a press release, creating even more buzz about what you are doing online. Everyone wants to know if their ideas were the most popular. By sharing the results with the world, you gain more credibility along with the visibility the press release will give you.

The bottom line strategy with this technique is to connect with your list by asking their opinion on what you are doing. The highest level of respect you can give to another human being is to ask them what they think and to then take action based on their response. The people on our lists bring us the success we enjoy, so ask them about what you are doing. You will find that your business will grow, while also bringing you a closer relationship with your prospects and clients.
