Yesterday I had the pleasure of finally meeting Jeff Turner in person. Jeff lives here in Santa Clarita, and I had been following his online persona for more than a year. Tuesday was his birthday, so I tweeted him over on Twitter, and invited him to come to my Rotary Club meeting on Wednesday. I recognized him right away when he arrived at the restaurant.
This gave us a chance to meet face to face, and to connect in some areas that are important to both of us, both online and away from the internet. I was able to introduce him to people who will be able to help him with a project in Kenya that he and his family are passionate about. It was a wonderful feeling to be able to give back to someone who has taught me so much during the past year.
I encourage you to do this same thing. Meet the people you have been connecting with and reaching out to online, face to face. This is why I attend the Big Seminar and other live events at least twice a year. If someone lives in your city, invite them to lunch or to a local event. One of my mentees lives in a city where many internet marketers are located, and she has done this successfully.
Building your business online is all about relationships. When you can meet people in person, it makes the process even more personalized.
