Will Textbooks Soon Be Available As eBooks?

The local school district here in my city announced that they may soon be offering some of their textbooks in eBook format. This is great news, given the cost of textbooks and the budget cuts to the school districts across the country.

When I was teaching we often had texts that were not required, yet were very expensive to purchase. If we could have just downloaded the two or three chapters that we going to use throughout the year it would have made a lot of sense.

What kind of information are you writing about? If it is anything that could be used in the school system you may want to publish it as an eBook and have it ready if there is an opportunity to have it used in the schools. The publich schools in the United States are a bit behind the times when it comes to technology (not all of them, so please don’t start emailing me), so this is a huge leap forward for them.
