I am fortunate to be living my dream. In 2005 I made a conscious decision to start writing and working from my home computer to make a living. It wasn’t always this way. In the early 80’s I wanted to be a full time writer. I then allowed a few negative comments by people I no longer remember to disuade me from continuing my dream of writing. I sold that dream for $1,450 a month when I became a claims adjuster for an insurance company and gave up writing for the next 20 years. How much did you sell your dream for?
Today we begin a new year. The Internet has changed dramatically in the short time I have been working online, so I imagine it will continue to change. The question is whether you will change with it or be left behind once again. Find a mentor you trust and build the kind of business you are dreaming of.
I still answer my own emails and have a lot of contact with people who want to make money online. One person wrote to me the other day, desperate to have 20 people follow her blog on Facebook’s Networked Blogs. She told me that she has been online since 1999 and still isn’t making much money. I was completely honest with her and answered that she needed more than 20 followers – she needs a mentor. I haven’t heard back from her and probably won’t.
Make 2010 (pronounced twenty ten by those in the know!) the year you change your attitude, perspective, and point of view in regards to building your Internet business. I start teaching the 12 week Incubator program again on Tuesday. It’s $47 a month and worth at least twice that. It’s completely up to you, so make a choice you will be proud of one year from today.
