Unlike a brick and mortar business, where you can lock the door and go home, your online business never sleeps. This is why it is so important to put systems into place so that you can continue to make money while you are sleeping, spending time with family, or doing anything else that you want or need to do.
The first system to put into place is to create a Google alert for your name and website. When someone writes something about you or your site, you will know within hours and be able to leave a comment or just see what is happening. I know exactly who has Google alerts set when I write about them here on my blog, because I typically receive an email or a comment very soon afterwards. Make this a part of doing business online and you will benefit greatly.
Another system that I absolutely must have is my shopping cart and database system. I use Kick Start Cart, which is a licensed version of 1 Shopping Cart. Go through my link and receive free training every month on how to use the shopping cart. This system enables me to receive emails every time someone makes a purchase from me or signs up for my list. It is internet-based, so I can access this system from anywhere in the world. This way you can literally make money while you sleep, and your clients receive all of the information they need automatically.
