Over the next couple of days I will be presenting information on how to write and market an eBook. I believe it is a three part process – deciding what you will use your Book for, writing your eBook, and marketing your eBook. If this topic is of interest to you, then you will get some new ideas from these posts.
If you have been busy writing an eBook on your niche topic that you want to sell on a website, you are not alone! More than half a million new eBooks will be written this year, but very few of them will make the author more than just a few dollars of profit. Why is this? Let me explain the best way I can.
First of all, what in the heck is an eBook? That’s the question I most often hear when I tell people what I do. It doesn’t matter how old they are, what their business background is, or how much time they spend online each day. Simply stated, most people are still confused when you use the term eBook. So how can you remedy that easily? Refer to your content as a digital book or an electronic book. Everyone can then understand what you are talking about. Trying to educate your audience will wear you out. Instead, talk to them using terms they already understand and can easily relate to.
Now think about what your goal is in writing this information. Will this be used to generate leads or as a source of income? Either way, your content must be the best possible, but by knowing ahead of time what you will be using it for, you will be able to plan how you will market it online. Maybe this will be a free giveaway in order to get people to exchange their name and email address in return for your information. This will help you to build your list steadily over time.
