Last night the power went out at my house. This would normally not be such a big deal, but I had a webinar scheduled to begin about twenty minutes later. I did not want to miss that opportunity to spend time with my students.
I was able to phone in and connect with them on the bridge line, and we began our class. More than twenty people stayed on the line while I taught by candlelight. About thirty minutes into this call my power was restored. I then started up the webinar and we finished our training. I am so thankful for the people who are in my training programs. They are the best.
You see, I was a classroom teacher for about twenty years. I left in 2005 due to health issues that made it extremely difficult for me to continue. I felt like I would neve be a teacher again. I was wrong. Coming online and teaching others how to get started with building an online business gave me back the ability to teach again. My students are adults who live around the world, and they give me the same feeling of satisfaction I enjoyed in the physical classroom. Teaching virtually can be just as rewarding.
So as we celebrate Thanksgiving here in the United States this week, I am thankful for the students who give me a reason to do my best so that I can share my information with them.
