30 Day Blogging Challenge For 2010 Starts On April 10

April 9, 2010 By Connie Ragen Green 274 Comments

We are ready for the next 30 day blog challenge. The last three challenges were a great success for everyone who followed through, so I decided it was time to let some new people join us. We will begin on Saturday, April 10, and finish the challenge on Sunday, May 9. I will write a post on Tuesday, May 11, announcing the names and the blogs of those who met the challenge.

I have found it necessary to make a few rules so there is no confusion. The rules are:

  • Your name must be on your blog so we can see who you are
  • Your blog must not be X rated – this does not suit my readership
  • Each post must contain at least 150 written words
  • You must post at least 30 times during the 30 day period – from April 10 through May 9 – to ONE blog
  • You may post as many times as you like during a 24 hour period, but you must have at least 30 posts published between April 10 and May 9 to qualify for the challenge
  • Leave a comment here with your name and the URL of the blog you will be writing on

Also, add your blog to your Facebook account using the Networked Blogs application. This is optional, but if you do this, and then let us know here, we can follow you so that your blog’s content will be syndicated on Facebook. This is good for your business. If you do not need any more followers, you do not need to do this to be a part of the challenge.

Over on Twitter, use the hashtag #blog30 in each tweet about the challenge. Tweet me @ConnieGreen to let me know how you’re doing.

Let’s have fun with this. A challenge gets you into the habit of blogging regularly, brings you new readers and more traffic, and exposes you to more options in your online business. Let the challenge begin!

Count me in, yea!! I am really excited about this! I did your blog challenge at the end of last year and your 30 day challenge is what launched my blog!! It is so cool how far I have come since then!! I was away for X-mas break in Arizona with my family and made time everyday to go post to my new, themeless blog. I am sure 30 posts in 30 days will add a great amount of content to my growing and improving blog and I am ready!!

    My blog is at: http://HelenRappy.com

Thanks so much for doing this and for the opportunity to play bigger!!

I love to write the little digits, upon the written page,
This challenge we share with Connie, for thirty days we wage.

To enter this challenge on April 10, shall show to all the rest,
The efforts we put forth this month, to do our very best!

The intention of this challenge, to assist inpersonal gain,
Should be approached with love and fun, not as an act of pain!

So as we write our names upon, the list that Connie will make,
I’ll let tomorrow begin with joy, as this challenge I do take!

Connie, looking forward to the fun! Blessings Upon You!

Terrie – You need to have your name on the front page of your blog, but not necessarily
      in the URL.

Gwen – yes, please tweet me (I’m @ConnieGreen) with a shortned link to your post each

Well, I can see I already have an issue with the name of my blog being just “my” name. Maybe I should start another one that’s more topic-specific – but I just wanted to get something going and out there! I needed to take some first steps, and I literally need BABY STEPS. That said, I’m on Twitter and Facebook and LinkedIn, but don’t know how to send a tweet about my blog (hmmm, that’s why no one is reading it? LOL). Also, would like to categorize it, but had trouble once I selected two categories, they didn’t seem to “stick” so I’m right back to uncategorized. grrr! Going to try to keep up but going to be traveling (light), so will need some “tricks of the trade” to autopost. Then, at some point, need a site and product to sell…

Hi Connie, I have spent about 45 minutes searching, googleing and researching the “Networked Blogs” application. As far as I can tell, there is no long such an application available.

There is a fan page on Facebook with the same logo, there are 48 fans but no content or links to the app.

I’m wondering if you have a direct link to the recommended application?
Thanks for setting up this challenge!

D’vorah – log in to your Facebook account – click on applications on the left – search
for Networked Blogs – allow the application – register a new blog – that’s it! They
also have a Fan Page, but that does not ‘allow’ the app on your page.

Hey Connie, very cool challenge. Only thing is for me is I blog as Lone Wolf the Third, so my name won’t be on it, or my real name, though my new business is The Word Doctor, and I may use that name on occasion.

Hmmm…so can I enter even if my name isn’t in my blogs? I know I can write 30 in 30 on my own, but it’s fun to be part of a movement or contest.

    Thanks!

I’m getting ping backs from Topsy due to the #blog30 tag. I think this is a good thing, but they come across as long, techie-filled comments, which I am hesitant to approve because they look like gunk. I’ve been taking them out of the Akismet spam folder, but not approving them.

Please advise the best way to handle these. Do I need to approve them to benefit from them? Thanks!

Although a little late (better late than never) I’m so glad and excited that I found this site. I may be a bit behind the curb but I luckily have two blogs listed to so far within the prescribed timeframe. I really would love to turn my love for fashion and style into a business. This challenge gives will make me accountable to pick up the pace. I am not quite sure I did the network app correctly on Facebook but if not I will figure it out. However, I do have the facebook badge to my profile posted on my blog page.

I plan to look at all our blogs and support your efforts. Thanks and good luck!

    Hi Connie —
Just heard about the challenge…waaay too late to try to catch up, so for me it’s beginning today! I’ve tried twice, and bombed both times; let’s see if I can make the third attempt the charm…

I’m blogging on my copywriting site, http://www.your-words-worth.com – starting today with http://your-words-worth.com/keep-site-visitor/ And I’ll be tweeting as @yourwordsworth…

    My NetworkedBlogs URL is http://apps.facebook.com/blognetworks/blog/your_words_worth/
I’d dearly love to get my quotient of 2 more people to verify it’s really there…anyone willing to help?

    Thanks!

    Hi again,

I suppose it would help if I told you where my blog is:

    My Favorite Self Help Stuff

I’ve got 10 posts so far towards the challenge (i.e., since April 10), so I have to hurry up a bit 😉

I also just achieved my 20 followers for my networked blog! So now it’s off to working on my fan page…

P.S.: Sorry about the typos in the previous post.

I wrote this huge blog and before I could save it, I got knocked out of the site and haven’t been able to get back in since. BUMMER!!!!!!!! I’d like to get some recommendations of other places where I could go to blog that are #1 SAFE! and #2 that you don’t have to agree to sign a release form a mile long! Any suggestions? Thanks! Patty

    Connie,
You enjoy your day in the sun. You, of all people, deserve it. I am so happy you created this challenge and that I am a part of it. I feel I was smart and created all my posts in a two weekend period and then scheduled them. So, now I can concentrate on other people’s posts and make comments and even post about my favorite sites.

Anyone who wants me to link to them only needs to comment here http://budurl.com/30daylinks with your name and the site you want linked to – and a brief description would help but is not necessary.

I have met so many wonderful like-minded people that I don’t know how to thank you or them for being a part of my life!

I know we’re going to have withdrawal when this is up. What then? Oh, yeah, right, your course..LOL

Thank you for your part in this challenge. Without the dedication of
people like you, we would not be building the relationships that will
make a difference for years to come. Perhaps you will host the next
challenge for #blog30 during the month of June!

I’m not completing the challenge although I came close. I actually thought it finished on May 11th but realized today that it finishes on May 9th which, I have decided is not do-able.

I’ve ‘met’ some interesting people and I may try again in the future.

I’m looking forward to continuing to follow many of the #blog30 participants and continue to learn.

I still need a few more followers on Networked Blogs – you can follow my blog by clicking on the “Follow This Blog” button on the right side of: http://www.InnovationExplained.com Thanks!

Thank you so much for having this 30 day blogging challenge. Nothing like the pressure to meet a challenge. It has moved my business so far forward so fast I can’t believe it. I now have also have my 30 articles for ezine.com which I had been procrastinating about. I have also made some great contacts and I’m even going to join Jeanette Cates for her blog challenge. This 30 day challenge is actually interesting. Blogging for 30 days would get me more hooked to it. It’s an amazing challenge that brings out the creative writing juice of a person. All the more, it’s one way of venting out one’s emotion. This will be my Day 1 of the blogging challenge!

I’m too late here for this challenge of course, but I’d be excited to participate in such a “contest”. I have never tried it before and I don’t know how I would do, but participating will “force” you to write; and the more you write the easier and better the writing will be. So I hope there will be another blogging challenge that I can try.

“A challenge gets you into the habit of blogging regularly, brings you new readers and more traffic, and exposes you to more options in your online business” I certainly agree with you on this. It’s just like a good training to sharpen one’s skills in writing blogs.Let me know when the next 30 day challenge will be, I have plenty of acquaintances who’d be really interested to join. Some are starters, but I’m sure they are very passionate about blogging
