One of my students wrote to me last night, asking me if she could interview me on how to make a thousand dollars in 48 hours. The idea was that I would share how I would start over, with no list, only $100 in cash, no products of my own, and no possibility of JV partners. I wrote back and told her that I have no idea how to do that. If I did, it would fall under the ‘get rich quick’ category, and that is just not what I teach.
Instead, I teach people how to ‘get rich slowly’. Many of my students increase their income each and every month based on this principle. I believe it is because they are willing to spend some time each day on the long term marketing strategies that work – blogging, article marketing, teleseminars, social media relationships, and affiliate marketing. These are the 5 components of my ‘5 Pronged Approach’, and they work.
If you are looking for a way to make a quick buck on the Internet, best of luck to you. Many people seem to teach this, but I’ve never seen it work for more than a few weeks at best. Then you are back to square one, trying to figure out what happened and wasting precious time. Think about building a business with staying power, something you can build for years to come, and you will be successful. As for wanting to know how to make 1K in the next 48 hours, I suggest purchasing a lottery ticket and crossing your fingers.

Hi Connie-
I’m shocked there aren’t any comments here??
Your 5-pronged approach is exactly what people need to do. It’s so simple, but you’re right it’s absolutely NOT quick. The problem I see is that most people give each of your strategies listed above a try once or twice, don’t see immediate $1000-in-48-hours type of results and say, “I tried (x) that doesn’t work for me.”
I want to smack those people upside the head.
Here’s what works: consistently & persistently getting your message in front of those you can best serve with your products and services. Being clear about who you are, what you can do, who you do it for, and what’s in it for them. That’s it.
Simple. But not quick. You’re awesome.

I’m working hard on a site I really, really love and care about. Reaching and teaching struggling readers who aren’t “making it” in school. The kids who are falling through the cracks as we speak.
The kids who ARE being left behind, no matter what the reading program say.
BUT. I need some bucks. Firstly, nurturing my little baby site with love and kindness and lots of fresh fruits and veggies is COSTLY!
Secondly, I can no longer work outside of home, so here I am, searching for a way to earn MY daily crust. (Pizza is better than bread, but I’ll take what’s on the plate!)
So. Slowly I turn. To. Affiliate marketing? I’m scared! I don’t want to pi## off the kind folks who’ve become such faithful followers and yes, some even have become admirers. Because I really AM an awesome teacher.
I don’t want to take advantage! I don’t want them to look down on me!
How do I overcome THIS fear?
Thanks so much. I really enjoyed the 5 posts I read as I “dropped by” to see who you were—just for a second!
Yeah, right. ; )

I love your 5 prong approach, Connie. Following it is serves me well. Those that teach that make money fast stuff really make it harder for the rest of us to overcome. I had someone ask me if I was selling another “internet scam”. I had to assure him that I was teaching people how to build their own online business, technology and marketing, not some business in a box get rich quick business in a box scheme. I heard someone ask you a similar question on one of your calls recently as well. It’s human nature to want to take the shortest route, but slow and steady is the way to go.
