One part of my online business involves marketing for three small businesses. I write articles, blog, and send press releases for a handyman, an insurance agent, and a plumbing company. You can do the same thing as you are building your online business.
I began by setting up a blog for the handyman two years ago. I would write about the work he did and include pictures with many of the posts. I always included keywords in the post titles, which included the name of his city and the words handyman, patio cover, kitchen faucet repair, ceiling fans installed, or anything else that we was doing. Within a few months his phone was ringing and he had discontinued all other advertising. I had also started writing one or two articles each month for him, making sure to include these same keywords in the article titles.
By this time the insurance agent had found out what I was doing and asked me to do the same for him. We negotiated a monthly fee and I began writing. The most recent clients I have taken on are plumbers. We negotiated our business arrangement while on a flight from Los Angeles to Atlanta.
I earn a total of five thousand dollars each month from these three clients. The goal is to make their phones ring. I spend about 10 to 15 hours each month writing articles, blog posts, and an occasional press release for all three combined. Not bad. I make excellent money, their phones ring, and I choose my own hours.
The best source of clients can be from your local Chamber of Commerce. You can also get started by writing for someone you already know who has a small business that needs a boost.

Thank you Connie for these articles. You certainly make things a lot clearer for me to understand the 5 W’s who, what, where, when, and why.
In reading your articles I am beginning to get a much clearer focus of what I need to do and how.
Thank you for sharing your knowlege.
