In November of 2009 I won the Better Your Best contest. The grand prize is 25 thousand dollars cash, and the honor of being the Ambassador for the next twelve months. This is an event sponsored by Armand Morin, one of most well known Internet marketers in the world. He has done this since 2002, and the award is always presented at his Big Seminar event. This is the oldest and largest Internet marketing conference in the world. I first attended in 2008, and that is when I first found out about the contest.
I can remember that first night of the seminar as if it were yesterday. They announced that we would be returning to the room after dinner so that the contestants could make their presentations. I watched as seven people took the stage, and one by one were called up by Armand to share their experience in building an online business with those of us in the audience.
They were an impressive group of people, and I can remember admiring them for their accomplishments. The winner was announced, and the huge check for twenty-five thousand dollars was presented to him. The second place contestant won three thousand dollars, and they were each given a laptop computer. It was a wonderful evening, but at that point I never thought that I would be a part of anything like that.
A year and a half later my life had changed dramatically. I had more self-confidence, and there I was on stage with the other finalists. When my name was announced I could not believe it! I am now serving as the Ambassador for this program, and I couldn’t be prouder of what I have accomplished with my online business.
When I think back to the time when I did not consider myself to be a ‘contender’, I wonder why I felt that way. It is my belief that I was not dreaming big enough, and that I believed that other people were more deserving than I was. I now believe in myself and know that anything is possible. How do you feel about this subject?
