Duplicate content has been an issue for as long as I have been working on the internet. You hear all kinds of stories about Google punishing you for publishing the same article on your blog that you submit to the article directories. Everyone seems to have their own theory about this, so I am providing a short report on the topic of Duplicate Content that you can read at your leisure. Click here to download your free copy of the Duplicate Content Debate short report. It was written by the editors of Article Marketer, the site where I am now submitting all of my articles. I encourage you to sign up for a free account there and see what you have been missing if you have been using any of the other article directories available online.

The duplicate content issue is still confusing for me — even after reading the short report! I understand about using other people’s material e.g. articles, and about referencing them correctly and using the resource information and so on.
It seems that different sites have different rules… and sometimes these rules aren’t very clear. Sometimes it’s just a matter of “trying and see what happens”… I try to change the title, the first paragraph and a couple of other things in the content I’m submitting to various places. And social network sites differ in their rules as well e.g. squiddoo appears to be fairly flexible whereas hub is a lot more stringent.
