Geoff Hoff – A Copywriting Star Is Born

I’ve had the pleasure of watching an Internet marketing superstar be born during this past year. I first met Geoff Hoff last July, when I joined Pat O’Bryan in his Portable Empire Coaching program. I had know Pat from afar for two years, seeing him at Big Seminar and following him online. His book, Your Portable Empire, was instrumental in me believing that I could do the same thing as he was on the Internet.

Geoff was friendly and outgoing from day one, but it was his writing ability and his willingness to take action that caught my attention. I knew that if someone who was already a professional writer would be willing to move forward with an Internet business, the possibilities could be endless. It’s the writing that stops most people, and if you come online with the skill and talent of putting words together you are at least half the way to real success already.

A couple of months ago I told Pat that I wanted to turn Geoff into a direct response copywriter. He approved, and I set about to do what I could to put the wheels in motion. You see, there are less than a hundred good direct response copywriters on the planet today. These are the people who write the sales letters that make us want to buy. They are masters of persuasion with both the written and the spoken word, and the rest of us make every effort to do what only they can do.

Pat O’Bryan was kind enough to allow me to speak at his UnSeminar 8 event in Austin last week. The night before I was to give my presentation, I asked Geoff if I could offer his copywriting, in the form of autoresponder messages, as part of my package. To my delight he said yes, and the rest, as they say, is history. I watched his face as I came to the point in my speech where I was going to announce that Geoff would be doing some copywriting for those who purchased from me. I wanted to savor the feeling of knowing that he was about to turn a corner and enter the great world of success as an Internet marketer and copywriter. When I said his name, cheers and applause broke out from the audience. Geoff’s star shone a little brighter and his stock went up considerably.
