This is the second post in this series. Actually sitting down and writing your eBook is the second part of the process.
The next thing is to decide what to write about in your eBook. Your information must be excellent, so that it will be considered to be valuable by anyone who receives it. Think of it as your calling card to those who do not yet know you. You absolutely must do your research and spend the time to do the best possible writing you can do. It does not matter if you will be selling or giving away this information. Either way, strive for excellence on your topic. If what you put together can already be downloaded online, what makes your take on it unique? Give yourself the gift of time to do your best writing.
Make sure your topic is one that is in demand. I see many people trying to market eBooks that are past their time of interest. The internet changes very quickly, so keep up with these changes. There is nothing worse than burying your head in the sand for two or three months with your writing, only to find out that your topic is no longer of interest or that you must now begin your research again because so much has changed.
Using sites such as Twitter and Facebook will give you access to millions of people from around the world who can assist you in this area. Ask questions about your topic and keep the conversation going. Just one tip from someone who is also knowledgeable in your niche can keep you from going down a path that will be a waste of your valuable time.
