Procrastination can be the enemy of the article and eBook writer. Putting off your writing until later may mean that it never gets done at all. I encourage you to set a schedule and stick to it. During the time you have designated as writing time, do not allow yourself to do anything else. If that means staring at a blank paper or computer screen, just sit there until the time is up. Try writing down tips or ideas about what you would write and it may begin to flow.
Writer’s block is similar to this but much more invasive. Determine if you are blocked or just procrastinating. Write about what you love and you look forward to the opportunity to write each day. Take these steps to discourage procrastination:
- Write down the reasons you want or need to write.
- Make a list of your goals – to increase your income, build a list of prospects, write an eBoook, etc.
- Write down your ideas you wish to write about.
Figure out what time of day is best for you to write – and then do it!

Hi Connie…
Sometimes it’s hard to distinguish between procrastination and writers block — writing isn’t something that comes very naturally to me, and most times it takes me for ever to produce something… even if it is something I’m passionate about. Writing on the blog is a whole lot easier… but creating ecourses and ebooks it’s a whole different ball game!
grrrrrrrr!
