Thoughts are things, and if you think you can be successful online you are probably very close to being there. One of my former students wrote to me today to tell me that making money online still seemed like just a fantasy to her. She is completely broke and will probably stay that way unless she can change her thinking about all of this. We call this the Inner Game, and it affects everything you do in your life.
You may know that I have an exchange student from China staying with me this summer. He has been told for most of his 16 years that he has terrible allergies and gets sick regularly. He arrived in California with a temperature, sure that he would be in bed for most of his stay here. After the first few days he began to forget what his family had led him to believe. For the first time in his life he is going swimming, playing basketball and soccer, and enjoying everything that life has to offer. As soon as he is home I am sure his poor health will return.
This may seem strange, but my former student and this boy have the exact same thing going on. They have both been made to believe that other people have good things happening in their lives, but it is not meant to be for them. Somewhere down the line they were made to feel that they did not deserve health, wealth, and happiness. Their inner game was crushed.
I know about this all too well; for many years I felt the exact same way. When I was about to turn 50 years old in 2005 I decided that I would stand up and give my life all that I possibly could. I had survived the death of my first husband, 3 bouts with cancer, and numerous other tragic life events. I knew that if I didn’t stand up and demand to be heard, my life might as well be over right then. I changed my inner game right then and there, and have never looked back. I am now living a life I had not previously even known existed. You can do the same thing by changing the way you think and believe.

Connie,
This post helps me and I would think others who have goals to do business online.
Thank you also for sharing that you have struggled and overcome the problems by changing thinking. That helps as well.

I have to agree that we produce what we think. I like to take a look at what is happening in my life. Good or bad, it is what I have produced.
It is not easy to just simply change our thoughts. Most of time we most likely don’t even realize that we are thinking thoughts that make life hard. For me, the key is to get busy and do all that I can for others and be grateful for what I have. The flows of life change and my thoughts do to.

This is so true. There are people I know & love who have gotten their inner game crushed. It really is a choice to either accept the limitations others may try to place on you or to choose to be unstoppable.

Connie,
I commend you and applaud you for being (as I like to say) “past a half a hundred” and deciding to give life all that you possibly can. You are a fabulous role model and inspiration!
“Limiting beliefs” can stifle the daylights out of anyone’s life. Actually, they can evaporate the “living” component of life itself.
Sounds like you are joyfully providing your exchange student a wonderful opportunity to start believing in himself, have all the fun he deserves, and shed all the negative labels.
You rock!
