Write an eBook on an Evergreen Topic
An “evergreen” topic is one that will be good for years to come. When it comes to writing and publishing an eBook you will want to use a topic that is popular, relevant, and evergreen. Once you write an eBook on an evergreen topic you will see firsthand why this is so lucrative as a part of your online business.
Many topics change over time, making the eBook you write obsolete as soon as the information changes. You can always provide updates but an evergreen topic will be good forever. Some examples of evergreen topics would be “soft” topics such as relationships, home repair, and knitting. These types of topics will be good for many years to come without you needing to make updates or revisions. My very first eBook on an evergreen topic was one about real estate farming, which is the process of marketing to a small geographic area both in person and from afar. It was a big hit, sold for forty-seven dollars because of the niche market I was serving (industries such as real estate tend to value training and information differently than others), and I only updated it once during the four years it was selling from my website (this was long before Amazon revolutionized self publishing with the now defunct Create Space and the current Kindle Direct Publishing).
It is entirely up to you; some people enjoy writing more to keep their eBook up to date. One of my clients is an accountant who loves to rewrite and re-record his material every year. If he doesn’t, by the second year his entire program might be obsolete. But given a choice, choose a niche where most everything will still be valuable and relevant over time.
This is from a post about the Top 150 Evergreen Niches:
If you are wondering about what to blog about or how to find your niche, then often you’ll search for popular niches which are “evergreen”—means which work throughout for years and years.
It’s one of the good practices of the blogger particularly who are the beginners. I faced this thought at the beginning of my blogging career.
I used to think about the evergreen niches and I started searching for them and had gone through lots and lots of niches, and I found most of the evergreen niches which work for bloggers.
Here are the first four of the one hundred fifty evergreen niches discussed here:
ASID Interior Decorators & Designers: ASID means American society of interior designers this is an evergreen niche which always visitors wanted to see.
Air Cleaning & Purifying Equipment: We people always wanted to be active and healthy, and we will not compromise regarding purifying so air cleaning and purification is one in the evergreen niches.
Aquariums & Supplies: Many people love the aquarium and many loves to buy aquariums to keep in their homes. So many people search for Aquarium related supplies to buy and also to compare so its evergreen niche.
ADHD: Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder often begins in childhood, and it can flow into adulthood as well. This type of chronic condition is occurring in children frequently. In India itself, there were more than 10 million cases per year so it’s most searchable niche.
Choose one of these to write an eBook on an evergreen topic. Then choose another one and do the same thing. I can tell you from my vast experience in this area over the years that an evergreen eBook will serve you well over time. I’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences on this idea of evergreen eBooks.
