Article writing and marketing gives you the opportunity of ranking on page one of Google for any of the keyword phrases that apply to you and your business. I learned this quite by accident when I first started writing articles, but quickly saw how powerful this technique would be in building my online business.
The first thing you will want to do is to make a list of the words your prospects might use when they are searching for what you have to offer. This is not as easy as it sounds, so spend some time thinking about it. Also, ask people who are on your list or currently are your clients what they would type into Google if they were looking for you or your niche topic. You may be amazed at what they share with you.
Google has a free keyword tool that shows you exactly what people are looking for and how many times your keywords were used. Choose from among those phrases to title your articles. Then write articles that give valuable information on the topic you are writing about. Make sure what you write is directly related to your title, or your article will not be published by the article directories. Your information must be relevant at all times.
Wait about a week after your article is published and then go to Google and type in the keyword phrase you included in your title. Go page by page until you find what you have written. Write more articles using the same phrase in your title. Within one to two months your articles will more than likely appear on page one.
I have done this with various niches, including ‘Yorkshire terrier training’ and ‘repurposing your content’. New clients are able to find me simply because of my articles. When you see how much it costs to advertise with Adwords, you will see that writing and marketing your articles is an excellent way to market yourself and your business online.
